![]() ![]() While this no doubt brings tears of worry to parents' eyes, the lads and lasses who arrive at Pangya find themselves surrounded by magic and mystery during their holiday. Every so often, island fairies spirit Earth boys and Earth girls (I hear they're easy) to the lush golfing greens for some celebratory swings. In honor of the hero's hole-plugging achievement, a new sport was created: Pangya: Fantasy Golf. With his magical staff and orbs of pure energy, he plugged the holes littered about the land of Pangya. By drilling holes deep into the ground, nefarious wizards drained the island's life force, casting Pangya into a dark era of doom and despair! A hero arrived from another dimension - a land called Earth - to end the vile sorcerors' wicked ambition. Using the "tap for power, tap for accuracy" gauge system that evolved across years of video game golfing, Pangya mixes tournament play with versus-mode battles against oddball opponents (such as a policeman who looooooves fried chicken), an assortment of challenges (such as ten tries to make a hole-in-one), and ridiculously cute costume changes."Ī great crisis once befell the isle of Pangya. Wish Nintendo would hurry up and announce a new Mario Golf, now that should have potential! I haven't played Tiger Woods yet but have Tiger Woods 2008 on preorder which is due August(NTSC, not sure if it's confirmed date and the same for PAL), hoping it will include online play this time around."This game is a time-killing, cute-girls-dancing golf epic. #PANGYA GOLF. FULL#All in all we've found that everytime we play this game we end the evening firing Wii Sports Golf up, we then spend the last nine holes commenting how we wish there was a full game version of WSG as it's just right on the sweet spot as far as console golfing games go. The graphics are good but nothing special IMO. While alot of games released on Nintendos consoles adopt this method I hate it on multiplayer style games such as this, I don't enjoy this game single player so we're tied to a single character and three courses for two player games. Controls seem over complicated to me & although it has alot more depth with options than Wii Sports Golf, it's nowhere near as fun to play IMO.Īnother thing I don't like is the fact that pretty much everything is locked, to be unlocked in single player mode. The load times are quite long and I don't like the fact you have to watch every shot in full(which are quite slow on their own due to the way the ball rolls after hitting the fairway). #PANGYA GOLF. PC#PS Oh.and I don't hold out much hope but is there any chance the PAL version will be online (seeing as it comes from an online PC game and Europe's online Wii servers are already up and running with Mario Strikers)?Īfter having some good extended play on this game now, I personally wouldn't really recommend it after Wii Sports Golf, it just feels too cumbersome & moves at a very slow pace to keep the multiplayer fun. ![]() Plenty of positives but also plenty of negatives. Having a look at what the yanks think about it makes an interesting read. If this is the case, does it spoil the enjoyment of the gameplay at all (I personally wouldv'e thought a "seamless swing" a la WiiSports Golf would play better)? As far as I understand it, Pangya involves swinging up to the backswing, pausing and waiting for the correct "power" level, and then swinging forward. #PANGYA GOLF. PSP#It actually reminds me very much of Hotshots Golf on the PSP (which I thought was a great game.very addictive).ġ) Is the black borders issue a problem with your NTSC game/Wii on a PAL telly or will we get the same issue on the PAL version here do you think?Ģ)The only thing of slight concern is the swing. Not sure when the UK release for this game is but if you aren't convinced by Tiger Woods I would say it's worth hanging on "four!" ![]() ![]() The true test will come at the weekend when my mate comes around for the now weekly Wii Golf session Just hope he doesn't pick up the obvious cheat of flicking the wrist to take shots as I prefer to play as it should be played which is doubtless making it more difficult to get the perfect shot. Gameplay though seems to be very good, although I'm not too sure about the putting at the moment, need more practise there I think as I find the green difficult to read so far. Also it doesn't seem to be true widescreen as I have a small black border at either side of the screen. The graphics are ok but personally I think they look alot rougher than Wii Sports Golf, I guess because there are more textures but I think it isn't running in progressive scan(will have to check that). After reading the various reviews I was amazed at how easy it was to get into, really liked the controls though obviously very different to Wii Sports Golf(which I'm a huge fan of). Just received this game through the post today(have a US Wii). ![]()
